3 days: Tbilisi and the mountains
Kazbegi
Day trip on the Military Road: Ananuri, Gudauri viewpoint, Gergeti Trinity Church. Back in Tbilisi by evening.
Mtskheta and the new city
Morning in Mtskheta (Jvari, Svetitskhoveli), afternoon at Fabrika, the Dry Bridge market and Mtatsminda.
5 days: classic first trip
Tbilisi
Old Town, museums, Mtatsminda and a food or wine tasting evening.
Kazbegi
Overnight in Stepantsminda to hike to Gergeti or the Truso Valley.
Kazbegi → Tbilisi
Morning hike, return via Ananuri and Mtskheta.
Kakheti
Sighnaghi, Bodbe and two wineries; back to Tbilisi or stay the night.
7 days: east to west
Tbilisi
City highlights and Mtskheta.
Kazbegi
Mountains and Gergeti.
Kakheti
Wine day, overnight in Sighnaghi or Telavi.
To Kutaisi
Stop at Uplistsikhe; evening in Kutaisi.
Imereti
Gelati, Prometheus Cave and Martvili or Okatse canyon.
Batumi
Train or bus to the sea; boulevard at sunset. Fly home from Batumi or Kutaisi.
10 days: with Svaneti
Tbilisi, Kazbegi, Kakheti
As in the 7-day route.
Kutaisi
Uplistsikhe on the way, Kutaisi in the evening.
Zugdidi → Mestia
Dadiani Palace and botanical garden, then the mountain road to Mestia past the Enguri Dam.
Svaneti
Koruldi Lakes or Chalaadi Glacier, then a day trip to Ushguli.
Batumi
Back down to the coast; Botanical Garden, Gonio and the boulevard.
Themed routes
Kakheti in 2 days
Sighnaghi, Bodbe, Tsinandali, Alaverdi and family qvevri cellars around Telavi and Kvareli. Best in September–October.
Hiking week
Kazbegi (Gergeti glacier, Juta–Chaukhi), then Svaneti (Mestia–Ushguli trek). Late June to September.
Black Sea and green hills
Batumi, Gonio, Mtirala National Park, Makhuntseti and the beaches of Kobuleti and Ureki. June to September.
